Into the Forest

This enchanting production, presented by The Dance Warehouse PMB, brings a hidden, vibrant woodland world to life through music, imagination and diverse choreography. 

“Into the Forest” journeys through a vibrant world filled with mystical creatures, playful animals and the raw beauty of nature itself.

The play features dancers from as young as two years old through to adults. It also includes various dance styles, including ballet, contemporary, modern, hip hop, belly dancing and breathtaking aerial acts. Theatregoers are also encouraged to come dressed as their favourite forest creature.

Where: Hilton College Theatre.

When: From Friday, June 12, until Sunday, June 14. Show times differ.

The 031 Theatre Festival 

This much-anticipated festival returns to Durban, featuring a dynamic mix of comedy, drama, music, and solo performance.

Led by the Mzansi comedy duo Lisa Bobbert and Aaron McIlroy of Macbob Productions, this year’s 11-production line-up expands to include even more top acts.

Highlights include “Rugby Mad”, which will see co-creator McIlroy in a solo comedic performance, while “Cottonwool Kid”, created by Toni Morkel and Sylvaine Strike and performed by Toni Morkel, explores a young girl’s life burdened by her parents’ carelessness.

Meanwhile, “Ms. B-haved”, written and performed by Sue Diepeveen, is a comedy which follows a veteran teacher whose shocking suspension rocks a tight-knit school community and “Roti Queen” will see Shika Budhoo in a solo comedy show that hilariously uncovers the delicate dance between love, identity and the art of making the perfect roti.

“Growing Old Disgracefully”, ” featuring international cabaret star Tonya Koenderman, will also be staged, taking a hilarious look at the unfiltered truths of getting older.
