Multi-genre producer, DJ and engineer DrexxBeats has teamed up with singer and songwriter Sineym for “Sikhulekile”, a new single that celebrates love, commitment and African culture.

“The vision was to create a song that feels authentic to who we are as Africans,” said DrexxBeats.

“Bringing the influences of Zimbabwean music traditions and South African Afro pop together allowed us to create something that celebrates love while honouring our cultural roots.

“We hope the song appeals to fans of Afro pop, house music and contemporary African sounds while also finding a special place on wedding playlists and romantic celebrations.”

Released on July 15, the song combines heartfelt storytelling with dance-ready rhythms, making it equally suited to the dance floor and life’s biggest celebrations.

Directly translated as “hear us out”, “Sikhulekile draws” inspiration from the promises couples make through their wedding vows. The song explores the joy of choosing love, building a future together and finding freedom in a relationship built on trust, loyalty and companionship.

Rather than sticking to one style, DrexxBeats introduces what he calls tribal house, blending Zimbabwean drums and percussion with the melodic appeal of South African afro-pop. The result is a track that reflects the rich musical traditions shared across Southern Africa while delivering a modern sound.

Sineym’s soulful vocals bring warmth to the song, giving every lyric an emotional touch that captures the excitement of new beginnings and lasting love.

“What I love most about ‘Sikhulekile’ is that it speaks to different audiences at the same time,” said Sineym.

“It has the energy that Afro pop and house music fans will connect with, but it also carries a message of love and commitment that makes it perfect for weddings, anniversaries and other special moments. It’s the kind of song people can dance to but also hold close to their hearts.”

The release also marks another milestone in DrexxBeats’ career following his participation in the 2026 AmaGroove Residency, a collaborative programme that brought together artists, producers and songwriters from Denmark and across Africa.

The experience encouraged creative exchange and inspired him to explore new sounds while remaining rooted in African storytelling.
