The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), commonly known as the Hawks, has intensified efforts to locate a 51-year-old woman connected with a long-running investigation into an alleged large-scale investment fraud scheme.
The investigation, led by the Hawks’ East London Serious Commercial Crime Investigation unit, focuses on claims that Princess Mseleku (Ntshangase) ran a sophisticated commercial scheme between 2011 and 2015, allegedly defrauding numerous unsuspecting members of the public of substantial sums of money under the guise of legitimate investment opportunities.
According to preliminary findings, a series of investment conferences were allegedly hosted at the East London Golf Club between June 2011 and January 2015. During these events, Mseleku reportedly portrayed herself as a credible and authorised investment intermediary acting on behalf of entities identified as Coral Lagoon Investments and Global Gold Club Investments.
Investigators allege that the conferences were carefully orchestrated to project financial legitimacy and international investment reach. Attendees were allegedly informed that Global Gold Club Investments was involved in offshore property portfolios and were promised guaranteed returns of 18% over a three-year period. These representations reportedly persuaded several individuals to commit funds during the conferences.
Victims later experienced ongoing difficulties contacting Mseleku. Further investigations revealed that purported bookings at investment-linked resorts could not be verified and communication channels linked to the suspect were disabled or abandoned
Despite extensive tracing, financial analysis and investigative measures, authorities have not yet established the suspect’s current whereabouts. She was last seen in Pongola, KwaZulu-Natal.
Hawks have escalated their operational response, implementing intensified tracing strategies, analysing financial flows, monitoring potential movement patterns and coordinating with interprovincial law enforcement structures and private-sector stakeholders. However, the person of interest remains at large.
Hawks have issued an urgent appeal to the public for assistance in locating Mseleku. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts, movements, associations or activities is urged to contact Lieutenant Colonel Zane Johnson on 082 941 8588, Captain Gideon Smith on 072 580 2538, or report to the nearest police station.
