It would not be an understatement to say this second season in charge of Kaizer Chiefs for Nasreddine Nabi has been like night and day compared to his debut term.

Last season, Chiefs finished their second successive term outside the top eight as they finished ninth in the Betway Premiership.

As soon as he began his tenure, Nabi pleaded for patience as he employed a long-term plan.

That plan seems to be paying dividends as their second place on the league table indicates, as they are behind table-toppers Sekhukhune United only on goal difference.

Nabi Praises Management’s Faith After 1-0 Victory Over Golden Arrows

“I think I have to say congratulations to the board,” said Nabi,

“I think they did a very big job for us. It is very great that there are some players that have already started to play, and some of them will get a chance to play also.”

“With the new players we need some time to build our team and to be better, but for now we have to say congratulations to the board for these players.”

Adjustments to PSL Fixtures Due to CAF Confederation Cup Preparations

Chiefs and the rest of the PSL teams will have some time off for the international break with Bafana Bafana playing FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Soweto side on Monday made a slight adjustment to their fixture schedule ahead of their new CAF Confederation Cup journey.

Chiefs take on Kabuscorp in Luanda, Angola on September 19, with the return match scheduled for a week later at FNB Stadium.

It means Chiefs needed an extra day to prepare for the African Cup competition, and their fixture against the table-topping Sekhukhune has been affected.

Instead of playing Sekhukhune on September 17, the match has been moved up by a day.
