Housing project on the outskirts of Durbanville creating opportunity for the unemployed

The City says that the Greenville housing project in Fisantekraal near Durbanville has created opportunities for unemployed residents. Recruits perform a variety of duties such as basic bricklaying, plastering, plumbing, carpentry and general labour. This forms part of the Expanded Public Works Programme, which the City says up skills those who are unemployed to gain the experience in various trades.

SA economic recovery derailed by KZN floods- Godongwana

The economic recovery of the country was derailed by the floods in KwaZulu Natal. That was revealed by finance minister Enoch Godongwana who delivered his medium term budget policy statement in the National Assembly at the Cape Town City Hall yesterday. Government expects that the country’s debt-to-GDP ratio will stabilise at 71% this year, down from a previous projection of 74% in the February budget.
