Reality star Inno Morolong has announced the launch of a Back-to-School Stationery Drive to support underprivileged learners, as schools prepare to reopen and many families face rising education costs across South Africa.
Morolong explained that the initiative targets children who are most at risk of starting the school year without basic learning tools, including learners from child-headed households. Essential items to be distributed include exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, crayons, school bags and other core stationery needed for classroom learning.
She says the drive comes at a time of sustained economic pressure on South African households. While some public schools provide stationery, shortages remain common, leaving many families unable to meet the full cost of uniforms and school supplies.
Announcing the initiative, Morolong highlighted the role education plays in shaping opportunity and restoring dignity.
“Many learners start the school year without the basic tools they need to succeed,” she said. “This drive is about restoring dignity, confidence and hope, one school kit at a time.”

The initiative forms part of Morolong’s broader commitment to social responsibility, youth development and community upliftment, using her public platform to create tangible impact beyond the entertainment industry.
In 2025, she donated matric dance dresses to final-year learners, and says her focus for 2026 is to continue contributing wherever possible.
“A little goes a long way, and whatever I can do to help build better future leaders is important,” she said.
Explaining what sparked her interest in doing the initiative she said,“I am a mother, and I know how expensive preparing for a child’s future can be. Even small support can make a big difference. My hope is that we raise healthy, happy and responsible adults.”

“I have always been involved in community work on a personal level. By spreading the word and encouraging people to help, we can reach more families. Education is important, and no learner should struggle simply because they lack resources,” she said.
The Back-to-School Stationery Drive will run from Monday, 5 January, with handovers to selected schools and households scheduled for 13 and 14 January 2026. While the initiative is primarily funded by Morolong herself, she has invited members of the public, brands and corporate partners to assist where possible.
“We are asking people to nominate neighbours, friends and learners they believe are deserving, starting within the Gauteng region. Our hope is to expand to other provinces. People are welcome to reach out and share their stories, and beneficiaries will be selected accordingly. All proceeds will come from me, with additional donations welcome,” Morolong explained.
