Kabelo Mabalane, after an 11-year hiatus, is back to releasing music.

The kwaito legend has announced that his new song, “Everybody needs somebody,” will be released on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Taking to his social media platforms, Mabalane shared the release date for his new single featuring The Arrows. He wrote: “11 years later… it’s finally here!

“There have been stops, starts, detours and a lot of life in between. But I promised you new music, and I’m keeping that promise.”

The single is the first release from his upcoming 10th solo album, marking his return to releasing solo music.

A new musical chapter

The former TKZee member last released an album, “Immortal Vol. 3” in 2015, in a previous post on social media shared why he is now stepping back into the studio, saying it all came down to authenticity.

“I have to consider the fact that right now I’m a married man, I’m a father, I’m a pastor, I am where I’m at with my faith, and it dawned on me that that’s the place I need to create from.

“And that’s exactly what I’ve done with this album that I’m looking so forward for you to hear.”

What to expect from the album

The announcement has prompted interest in the new music Mabalane has been working on and what other features he has in store for the album.

A previous video showed Mabalane in a studio session with artists including Khaya Mthethwa and JazziQ. The clip also showed an orchestra and gospel singers, hinting at a sound that blends different musical influences.
