KZN elevates first female to lead the province as premier

KwaZulu Natal has a new premier as Nomusa Dube Ncube becomes the first female to take up the position. She replaces Sihle Zikalala who resigned after losing out on the ANC chairperson position.

Nothing to celebrate this women’s month- DA

The DA says there is nothing to celebrate this women’s month, despite strides made by women since the 50’s. The party says the past two years has seen a sharp increase in violent crime in the Northern Cape and the so called Gender Based violence council set up to tackle cases of violence against women has so far done next to nothing

Those caught with a huge haul of drugs must be denied bail- Reagen Allen

The Western Cape MEC for Police Oversight and Community Safety, Reagen Allen, says the men who were arrested with a large consignment of drugs last week must not receive bail.

Police arrested three men on the N1 highway last week in possession of cocaine worth more than the four-million rand.

Allen says police must also make sure that they close the known drug outlets in the province.

Primary suspect in killing of Muslim men arrested

Police in New Mexico, say they have arrested their “primary suspect” in the killings of four Muslim men.

Muhammad Syed, was held earlier this week and is charged with the murders of two of the men. Multiple firearms were recovered from his home.

Police say they are working with investigators to charge the Afghan with the other two deaths.

The deaths took place over the past nine months.

Woman sets record by running 106 marathon distances in 106 days

A British woman earned a Guinness World Record when she ran 106 marathon distances on 106 consecutive days. Guinness World Records said the woman earned the title for most consecutive days to run a marathon distance , beating the record of 95 days. She did about 42.16km a day to beat the record.
