Saxy Vibes 8

Don Vino is set to return to the stage with Saxy Vibes 8, continuing a journey that has made him one of the country’s most recognisable contemporary saxophonists.

Known for his signature sound of jazz, soul and contemporary sounds, the saxophonist has built a strong following through high-energy shows that fuse musicality with popular appeal.

The “Saxy Vibes” series began as a personal performance concept that showcased his saxophone-led reinterpretations of popular music, gradually evolving into a branded live experience due to strong audience demand and consistently sold-out shows.

Over time, it became a staple on the Cape Town live entertainment calendar, with each edition building on the last. Each edition has showcased collaborations with local artists and a mix of genres.

Where: The GrandWest Arena.

When: Saturday, June 13, at 7pm.

Funny Side Up

South African comedy favourite Kurt Schoonraad is bringing his hit one-man show “Funny Side Up” back to the stage after a successful run last year, with new performances lined up at Café Roux and the Baxter Theatre.

The show features fresh material and his signature observational humour, turning everyday South African life, relationships, ageing, social habits and pop culture into relatable comedy.

The production reflects Schoonraad’s long-standing connection with Cape Town’s comedy scene, particularly the Baxter Theatre, where he first performed his debut one-man show “Punchlines”, marking an early milestone in his career and helping shape his place in local stand-up comedy.

Where: Café Roux.

When: Friday, June 12, at 6pm.

Sing Diva Pop

Diva Pop 2.0 is an electric choral production from CT Project Choir, Stadskoor and iKwayara celebrating the biggest pop divas of past and present in one powerful musical experience.

Featuring exciting new arrangements, high-energy performances and over 50 voices on stage, the show reimagines iconic hits from Whitney Houston to Rihanna and Chappell Roan.

With surprise debut solo performances, it delivers a vibrant celebration of vocal power, emotion and unapologetic self-expression.

Where: Laerskool Jan Van Riebeeck.
