South African content creator and entrepreneur Mihlali Ndamase has hit back at rumours linking her romantically to the late Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo and socialite Ginimbi.

Ndamase addressed the speculation in a lengthy statement shared on social media on Thursday, saying she would not remain silent while false claims about her personal life were presented as fact.

“There comes a point where you have to draw a line between people having opinions and people deliberately creating narratives that simply aren’t true,” she wrote

The influencer said she had no issue with being discussed, criticised or misunderstood, but objected to what she described as fabricated stories attaching her name to people she had never engaged with.

“I know who I am, I know what I have done and, most importantly, I know what I haven’t done,” she added.

Ndamase was particularly direct about the alleged relationships, stating that she had “NEVER dated Wicknell” and had never met him.

She also denied ever dating the late Zimbabwean socialite Ginimbi.

“I don’t understand why some of you are so quick to run with narratives created by that imbecile on Twitter, knowing very well he only uses my name for relevance,” she wrote.

The renewed speculation comes more than two years after Ndamase was previously linked to Chivayo while the pair were both in Miami.

At the time, Chivayo publicly denied knowing Ndamase and described the dating reports as false. Ndamase subsequently thanked him for clarifying the matter and criticised people for associating her with men she had never met.

In her latest statement, Ndamase said she would continue to prioritise her peace but stressed that this did not mean allowing people to “rewrite” her character.

“Respectfully, leave my name out of your lies,” she concluded.

Wicknell died alongside his wife and others in a helicopter crash in Marondera, Mashonaland East on Wednesday, September 30.
