Grammy Award-nominated and multi-award-winning producer, DJ, and songwriter Mörda, real name Bongani Mohosana, continues his creative evolution with the release of “Asante IV”, the fourth chapter in his acclaimed album series.
Released under his independent label Asante Music, the 19-track project cements Mörda’s reputation as one of Africa’s premier electronic music pioneers.
Since departing from the legendary duo Black Motion in 2022, Mörda has used the “Asante” series, named after his daughter, to document his personal and artistic growth.
What began as a 10-track statement of independence with 2022’s “Asante” has grown into a monumental body of work that redefines modern South African house music.
The music of “Asante IV”
Where earlier entries balanced tribal drum patterns and club-focused Afro tech (“Asante” and “Asante II”) before venturing into melodic textures in “Asante III”, “Asante IV” represents Mörda at his most organic, solidifying his role as a leading producer in the global Afro-house movement.
The new album bridges the gap between deep house, driving Afro tech and live jazz instrumentation.
