More calls for finance minister to resign
There’s growing calls for Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana to pack his bags and vacate his office amid sexual harassment allegations levelled against him. The Not In My Name movement has now joined calls along with the EFF and other civil society organisations. Its reported that an employee at the Kruger National Park, who was offering massage services to guests, opened the case against Godongwana. Allegations he firmly denies.
Brrrrr…… temperatures expected to drop in the Cape from tomorrow
Temperatures are expected to drop substantially in the Cape from tomorrow into Friday as light snowfall is expected in the Western Cape and over the southern high-lying areas of the Northern Cape. The City of Cape Town’s Disaster Risk Management Centre says that teams are on standby to assist where localised flooding and damaging winds might damage or destroy infrastructure. The SA Weather Service issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for damaging winds and rough sea conditions throughout today into tomorrow.
Eskom clamps down illegal electricity connections in Wallacedene
Eskom is clamping down on illegal electricity connections and this time the utility has swooped in on Wallacedene in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. The utility says it loses millions each month because of illegal connections and is warning of consequences if community members are found to be connected to the grid illegally. Eskom’s clamp down is said to be in an effort to prevent injuries and further loss in revenue.

Cuba says it will allow foreign investors into its wholesale and retail trade for the first time in 60 years.
The move is a major shift for the island nation’s Communist government, and overturns a 1960s Fidel Castro policy of nationalising retail.
But Cuba is now facing its most severe economic crisis in decades, with rising prices and public discontent.

Forget about the dog eating your homework excuse, because now Oregon lottery officials say they had to reconstruct an $8million lottery scratch off ticket which was torn to shreds by the winner’s dog. Lottery officials were able to piece the ticket back together and confirmed it was an $8 winner. The winners say they are planning on buying their dogs more chew toys.
