As Kaizer Chiefs continue to tread water in the Betway Premiership, coach Nasreddine Nabi has stood resolute in his belief that his charges will soon start producing the wins.

Chiefs have now lost three of their last five league outings and have now lost 10 times this campaign under Nabi.

Over the weekend, Chiefs fell to a 2-1 loss to Golden Arrows.

It means the last time Chiefs picked up a league win was on March 4 when they edged Magesi 1-0.

Nabi calls for patience and new talent to boost Chiefs’ performance

“It’s a problem for the team; I think we need patience with the players. We need patience, not panic,” Nabi explained as per KickOff.

In the Arrows defeat, Dillan Solomons and Yusuf Maart were criticised for their lack of clinical finishing. Nabi, however, was more cautious in his assessment.

“If you understand football, there are some negative points, but I think the team is complete in some points, and these negative points are only in the last decision. Solomons is not a winger, and he is not a striker; he is a right-back. The problem is not Solomons.

“If you look at the game against Arrows and the game we lost against Richards Bay, it’s the same profile. This is the problem.

“I take responsibility; I don’t give the responsibility away, but to change the situation, we need two things. The first is patience. We need patience. Secondly, we need more players with the engine.”

Chiefs are currently eighth on the log, and are next in action against TS Galaxy at Peter Mokaba Stadium, in Polokwane, on Saturday. Galaxy are flying high at fourth and will be a stern test for the Soweto Giants.
