230 incidents of electricity infrastructure vandalism recorded in CT

The City of Cape Town says it recorded 230 incidents of electricity vandalism and illegal connections in the last quarter of last year at a cost of around R2,5million. The recent figures which were released shows the metro’s Area North was worst affected

Gauteng police clamp down on counterfeit goods 

Police in Gauteng have made a multi-million rand bust in the Johannesburg CBD. The law enforcement officials clamped down on shops selling counterfeit items and confiscated items believed to be worth around R3,2million.

Outa files application at High court to overturn state of disaster 

The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) has filed an application at the Gauteng High Court to overturn the national state of disaster that was declared over the energy crisis.
Outa’s Stefanie Fick says years of state capture, mismanagement and a dysfunctional culture cannot be a rational justification for the declaration of a national state of disaster.

Bruce Willis has dementia- family

The family of actor Bruce Willis has announced that he has frontotemporal dementia. The 67-year-old was diagnosed with aphasia – which causes difficulties with speech – in spring last year, but this has progressed and he has been given a more specific diagnosis.
