City’s enforcement agencies continues to clampdown on the criminal element in the city.
The City of Cape Town says enforcement agencies made more than 320 arrests over the past week and issued more than 57,800 fines for various transgressions. There were notable increases in the number of drunk driving arrests, and motor vehicle accidents reported to the City’s Public Emergency Communication Centre. With the Public Emergency Centre recording nearly 2,000 calls over the past weekend, including that for assault, domestic violence and motor vehicle and pedestrian accidents.

The Western Cape’s Health Non-Emergency Transport has made more than 41-thousand passenger trips across the province in the first three months of the year.
The Non-Emergency Transport is made for patients who can’t use public transport to attend their specialist outpatient clinics. Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness spokesperson, Byron la Hoe, says patients are booked through a provincial healthcare facility using an online system.
Not yet clear on the outlook on the fuel prices come April
It is not clear if fuel prices will decrease or increase next week.
The Department of Energy and Minerals will once again make the announcement on the new fuel prices to come into effect next week.
A strong rand and lower oil prices from last week indicate that motorists could get a very small decrease in fuel prices.
