Former Tshwane Mayor appointed new Electricity Minister

Former Tshwane Mayor Kgosientsho Ramogopa has been appointed as the new Electricity Minister. President Cyril Ramaphosa made the announcement last night during his cabinet reshuffle announcement. Several opposition parties have hit out at PresidentRamaphosa for appointing an Electricity Minister and expanding his cabinet

SAMWU welcomes appointment of new minister and deputy for COGTA department

The South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) has welcomed the appointment of the new minister and deputy minister in the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.
President Ramaphosa announced Thembi Nkadimeng as the new Minister of the Department.
She replaces Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma. Parks Tau is the new deputy minister in the department.

Another petrol price increase for next month

Another petrol price hike is on the cards for April.
This is according to the latest data from the Central Energy Fund.
Petrol prices show an under-recovery of 56 cents per litre, while diesel is showing an under-recovery of six to nine cents per litre.

‘Smiley face’ sphix like statue found in southern Egypt 

Archaeologists have unearthed a sphinx-like statue and the remains of a shrine in an ancient temple in southern Egypt. The artefacts were found near the Hathor Temple, one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient sites. The limestone sphinx with its “smiley face and two dimples” is thought to represent Roman Emperor Claudius.
