Imagine hearing that you’ve died while you’re still very much alive. Well, that’s exactly what radio presenter Pabi Moloi recently experienced.

It all started with a Facebook post by Mzansi Soapies & Teaser that went up this past weekend.

With broken heart emojis and flying doves, the post showed side-by-side images of Moloi, highlighting her weight loss, along with a screenshot from a recent TikTok clip.

It was captioned: “It is with a heavy heart at this hour we announce the heartbreaking news about Pabi Moloi, most loved TV presenter.”

This Facebook post gives the impression that she had died.

Although the link in the post leads to an article that doesn’t actually say she has died but instead discusses concerns about her weight loss, the visuals used (the heartbroken emoji and doves) strongly suggest that she had passed away.

Last week, Moloi shared a video on TikTok showing her shopping at a hardware store.

The clip went viral, racking up over two million views, with many fans expressing concern about her weight loss.

“Pabi no please you don’t look well?? Please take care of yourself,” one viewer commented.

Others drew comparisons to the late Chadwick Boseman, who was body-shamed before his death while quietly battling cancer.

“Remember how the whole internet mocked Chadwick Boseman for drastic weight loss and then again the very people were posting ‘RIP, will never forget you’ when he finally passed on after battling the worst kind of Cancer,” one follower commented.

The situation highlighted how people often make assumptions about what others are going through without knowing the full story.

In response to the online chatter and the latest rumour about her death, Moloi took to social media to show and state that she’s “very much alive.”

“I thought everything weird that could happen to me has already happened to me. I thought being body shamed, being number six on the best dressed list and the worst dressed in the same year. I mean that is weird. A lot of weird sh*t has happened to me but this might be the weirdest. Guys, I’m alive. I’m very much alive. October the 20th 2025. And I’m alive. I literally saw someone say RIP. Well I’m going to have a ripping rest of my life and I’m still here,” she said.

Her X post was captioned: “The rumours of my death are greatly exaggerated. 20 October 2025.”

Despite her clarification, people continue to question her appearance, with one user asking, “Are you on Zempic?” and another saying, “Is that makeup or is your jawline in a diet?”

Moloi often shares videos of herself at the gym, and it’s clear that she’s on a health and fitness journey.
