There’s another royal baby on the way. Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are officially expanding their family.
The 36-year-old royal took to Instagram on Monday to share the happy news with royal fans.
She posted an adorable snapshot of her two older sons, five-year-old August and two-year-old Ernest, proudly holding up an ultrasound picture.
Keeping the announcement sweet and simple, she wrote: “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!”.
The rest of the royal family is clearly thrilled about the new addition.
Buckingham Palace released an official statement confirming the due date and sharing that August and Ernest are highly anticipating their new sibling.
As for her uncle’s reaction, the Palace shared a comment from King Charles III, stating: “His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.”
This upcoming arrival is going to shake up the royal hierarchy just a tiny bit.
The new baby will be born 15th in line to the British throne, which actually bumps the Duke of Edinburgh down a peg to the 16th spot.
On a more sentimental note, this little one will be the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II, and the third to be born since she passed away in 2022.
It will also be grandchild number five for Eugenie’s parents, Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The pregnancy announcement caps off a season of milestones for the couple, who originally tied the knot at Windsor Castle back in 2018.
Just days before revealing the baby news, Eugenie celebrated Jack’s 40th birthday by sharing a loving tribute on her Instagram stories, featuring pictures of him relaxing on a beach.
Royal watchers are also pointing out that the prominent, supportive announcement from Buckingham Palace serves as a strong show of public backing for Eugenie, especially as her family continues to navigate the ongoing controversies surrounding her father.
