South African Airways (SAA) suffered a loss of about three-point-one-four-billion rand due to corruption and maladministration.
This is according to the Special Investigating Unit which says they hope to recover the money, which is expected to spike as investigations continue.
City officials and community leaders held an urgent meeting with Eskom regarding a prolonged outage in Elsies River. Eskom reports that power has been restored to 60% of affected customers and anticipates full restoration. While the City acknowledges the inconvenience, it calls for calm and increased efforts to address theft and vandalism of power infrastructure in the metro.
