Still no police station erected in Makhaza after promises made in July

The Makhaza community in Khayelitsha says government has again made empty promises regarding the building of a police station in their community. This after the community is still waiting for a police station to be erected even after Police Commissioner Fanie Masemola promised to have one built by the 1st of November. That was in July, and the community says that there’s still no sign of construction.

Calls for tiered system for electricity prices

How would you feel about a tiered system to be implemented for electricity prices? Well that seems to be the call from the Soweto Electricity Crisis Committee which says that big business and individual users should not be paying the same amount for electricity. The calls come as the Gauteng township received an electricity bill of more than R5billion, with Premier Panyaza Lesufi saying the debt should be scrapped.
