Most recently she was in her hometown of Johannesburg and attended the Absa Champagne In Africa Festival 2025: Champagne Masterclass and dinner with the renowned Chef Wandile at his Les Créatifs restaurant.
During dinner, the founder of Luvant, a luxury resale platform, and Heaton Consulting, spoke with IOL, shared insights into her fabulous 2025 filled with milestones, her newly opened interior design studio and her Christmas plans.
“2025 has been a great year being able to attend the Business of Fashion 500 that was a major milestone for my career and just myself. I think the first South African content creator to have ever attended the gala was just honestly a dream come true.”
After a whirlwind year of travel and major career wins, influencer Sarah Langa shares ith IOL the vision behind her studio and her annual ‘chosen family’ Christmas.
Langa also added that moving back to South Africa has been a highlight of her year. She moved to the United Kingdom, three years ago to be able to study interior design and being back home has been great for her.
This year, Langa opened an interior design studio, fulfilling a long-held dream to curate spaces that represent African homes and culture.
“Opening my interior design studio, it’s always been a dream of mine to be able to go into the interior space and curate places that represent African homes and African culture so being able to see that slowly come to life.”
Langa’s motivation for pivoting into this space stems from the observation that many interior design styles are based on culture, storytelling, history, and location, and she felt that African representation was lacking.
She aims to explore what makes an African home African from an architectural perspective, incorporating easily accessible materials from South African towns and villages. She wants her clients to feel at home and identify with elements that make their house a home, ensuring their homes represent them, their culture, and their narrative.
Education plays an important role in who Langa is and she has been able to merge both worlds of studying and working. She credits time management as one of her driving factors, being able to juggle multiple jobs.
“In high school I had a weekend job but also had hobbies but this is just even better because now I’m doing all the things that I love towards goals that I want to achieve. It’s all about having the right motivation to give you the right energy and managing your time.”
With the festive season rapidly approaching, many individuals are beginning to finalize plans for their Christmas lunches. Langa revealed that she will be hosting her yearly “chosen family Christmas”.
This gathering is an event she organizes with friends from different parts of South Africa who have formed their own chosen family bond. She will be hosting her chosen family at her interior design studio because that’s her new home.
The theme for this year’s Christmas is “chrome African Christmas.” This theme is inspired by chrome or stainless steel, which is the primary material used in her launch collection for her first furniture range. The African element will be incorporated into the menus, decor, and invites.
