With this monumental milestone, officially locked in on July 16, Temilade Openiyi becomes the first female African artist to secure a US Diamond single.
She now joins Afrobeats icon Wizkid (who earned his Diamond plaque via Drake’s 2016 hit “One Dance”) as the only two African visionaries to surpass 10 million-plus sales in America. Notably, global superstar Drake serves as the common denominator, anchoring both historic cross-continental anthems.
