A few days after celebrating her late daughter’s birthday, Manaka Ranaka accepted a qualification on behalf of Katlego, who was studying to become an animal farmer.
The actress shared a video on Instagram as she went up the podium, alongside her brother Ranaka Ranaka, to accept her late daughter’s qualification.
“Mother of a graduate,” she captioned her post. Although you could feel how emotional the atmosphere was through the video, the actress made sure to embrace the moment.
Ranaka further added, “So proud of you, my angel. You did well. A whole qualified animal farmer.”
She wore the graduation regalia and also held a white candle in memory of her daughter, and on the video, you can hear her proudly say the words: “You did it!”
In addition, towards the end of the video, the crowd clapped their hands, and you can hear someone say, “Congratulations, KG!”
During Katlego’s memorial service early this year, it was revealed that she was meant to finish her Diploma in Animal Production at Ekurhuleni Agricultural College on January 31.
On November 1, which was supposed to be Katlego’s 25th birthday, the actress penned an emotional post on Instagram, sharing that she is heartbroken because she has to live with the reality of not being able to see her again.
She expressed that this is the family’s first November, including a birthday without her, and although this is a painful day for the family, it is also a bittersweet moment as they held an unveiling tombstone ceremony for her.
Industry friends and fans sent their well-wishes in the comment section and also wrote comforting words for Ranaka.

The news of Katlego’s sudden passing sent shock waves in the entertainment industry, and many sent condolences to the Ranaka family.
It was later revealed that she died of natural causes.
