Grammy nomination, birthday candles, and a room full of love – that was the vibe at Tyla’s birthday celebration. It was already a big night for Epic Records’ Grammy nominees, but it became Tyla’s moment as she turned a year older.
The label’s Grammy kick-off party, hosted in collaboration with Hennessy on Friday, January 30, at Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, doubled as a 24th birthday celebration for the South African star. The timing couldn’t have been better. Tyla rang in the 2026 Grammys weekend with a nomination and a growing global spotlight, and the room made sure she felt it.
Midway through the night, the “Chanel” hitmaker was presented with a towering white birthday cake adorned with edible pearls. She wore a white off-shoulder mini dress paired with neon heels, completing the look with neon eyeshadow and matching accessories. This time, she swopped her iconic sleek bob braids for a high ponytail.
Standing beside her was labelmate and fellow Grammy nominee Zara Larsson, joining in as everyone serenaded Tyla with a loud chorus of “Happy Birthday.”
The event celebrated Epic Records’ Grammy nominees across multiple categories. Tyla was recognized for her Best African Music Performance nomination for “Push 2 Start”, marking another milestone in her steadily growing international presence.
Larsson also earned her first-ever Grammy nomination in the Best Dance Pop Recording category for “Midnight Sun”. Other Epic nominees honored during the evening included Wizkid, Yolanda Adams, GIVĒON, and Eddie Benjamin, who received an Album of the Year nod for his work on Justin Bieber’s album.
The night leaned fully into the celebration theme, with Hennessy signature cocktails named after nominated songs and artists – Tyla’s drink inspired by “Push 2 Start”. She also shared TikToks from fans wishing her a happy birthday and thanked them on Instagram: “Y’all made my birthday sooo fire. I love y’all 4 EVA,” she wrote.
Ahead of the 2026 Grammys, Tyla also stepped out in Los Angeles for the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala on Sunday. For the occasion, she embraced sleek glamour, wearing a black cut-out gown with a plunging neckline and sculpted sides. The look was sharp, confident, and very on-brand for a star heading into one of the biggest moments of her career, where she could walk away with her second Grammy.
She completed the ensemble with statement jewelry from Jacob & Co., featuring diamond and pink sapphire pieces that added just the right amount of sparkle without overpowering the dress.
