The City is calling on bakers, designers, fresh produce sellers and other creatives to apply for trading bays at this year’s Summer Market. Applications close this Friday and the City says that another added dimension that makes the market special is that the City partnered with the Craft and Design Institute which will be offering product development and marketing training to some of the vendors. The Economic Growth Directorate says that this is a way its supporting the growth of the Cape’s informal economy.

One luxury brand is said to own a plot about the size of four football pitches, which it hopes will eventually contain a metaverse store and gallery.
