Grammy-winning South African DJ and producer Black Coffee has been announced as the first headliner for the 2026 edition of Africa Is Not A Jungle.
The global star will headline the Durban edition of the music and culture experience on 7 November at Kings Park Field, with the event set to bring African music, creativity and culture to the forefront.
The announcement was made by Africa Is Not A Jungle on its social media platforms, with the organisers describing Black Coffee as the first artist to be revealed for this year’s edition.
The Durban event will take place from midday, with the festival promising a celebration centred on African creativity, unity and the future.
According to the official event listing, the experience is designed to challenge outdated narratives about the continent while putting African excellence at the centre of the stage and the wider event.
Black Coffee’s connection to Africa Is Not A Jungle goes beyond his role as a performer. The platform was created around showcasing African talent and changing the way the continent is represented through music, culture and creativity.
Black Coffee has previously described the initiative as a way of helping Africa “be seen in the right light”.
The 2026 Durban edition will be followed by an Africa Is Not A Jungle event in Johannesburg on 28 November at Reflection Cradle in Muldersdrift. Black Coffee is also listed as the headline act for that edition.
The Durban event is strictly for those aged 18 and over, with gates opening at 12pm.
