Brown Mogotsi arrested after testimony at Madlanga Commission

Political fixer, Brown Mogotsi, has been arrested for staging an assassination attempt in the Vosloorus case and defeating the ends of justice.

The incident reportedly happened after Mogotsi concluded his testimony at the Madlanga Commission on Friday. Without naming the suspect, the SAPS confirmed in a statement that the multidisciplinary team has executed a J50 warrant of arrest and arrested a suspect for defeating the ends of justice.

SAPS spokesperson, Brig. Athlenda Mathe, said this emanated from the alleged staging of an attempted assassination on the suspect’s life in Vosloorus.

“Preliminary investigations have revealed that the firearm used in the commission of the crime has also been linked to other serious and violent crimes, including cases of murder and attempted murder,” Mathe said.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on May 18, 2026.
