Between November and May each year the Western Cape sees a rise in cases of diarrhoea in young children, with some cases being fatal if not detected early enough. Emergency Medicine Specialist at Life Healthcare Dr Charl van Loggerenberg has told Magic News that medication is not particularly helpful in the early stages of diarrhoea, but rather upping hygiene levels in the home.
