Jeremy Clarkson revealed this week that he has been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of cancer.

The Grand Tour and former Top Gear star announced the news to co-stars Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland during the final episode of the fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm, while reassuring the pair that it had at least been caught early.

“I had a biopsy, and it is cancer, and it’s aggressive, but it’s really early,” the 66-year-old Clarkson said.

He added that his treatment would take place “slap bang in the middle” of the harvest season and that he would be out of action for a while as he recovered from his operation.

Both Cooper and Ireland appeared visibly emotional after hearing the news and offered him their support.

The closing scenes of the show then showed Clarkson in hospital, where he said some of the treatment had gone “awry”.

“What I wanted to say was, if this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six, and if it isn’t, I won’t,” he added.

Clarkson’s cancer diagnosis comes less than two years after a serious heart scare that he has repeatedly described as a wake-up call.

In late 2024, he experienced alarming symptoms while on holiday on a small island in the Indian Ocean. He later revealed that he suddenly felt tightness in his chest, had difficulty breathing and experienced numbness in one of his arms.

After seeking medical treatment in the UK, doctors found that one of his arteries was completely blocked, while another was significantly narrowed. He then underwent a procedure to insert stents and restore blood flow to his heart.
