After three days on the move, a juvenile baboon has been safely rescued and is receiving care at the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW).

The successful rescue followed a community-wide effort, with residents reporting sightings, submitting videos and contacting CROW’s emergency line to help track the animal’s movements.

Before its rescue, the baboon was last seen near Southway Mall in the Rossburgh area, before running into nearby bushes.

CROW thanked members of the public for their support, saying their quick action and concern played a vital role in bringing the baboon to safety.
