Police investigate as man given concoction kills two, hospitalises one
Police in Limpopo are investigating two cases of murder and one of attempted murder after three men were given poisoned drinks by a stranger. Its believed the man who remains in hospital received a drink by a stranger who approached him while he was looking for work. He then assumed it was a coldrink and took it home and shared it with his younger brother and another man, who both died after drinking the concoction.
Taxi driver released on R2k bail after arrest for transporting illegal miners
A taxi driver is in hot water for allegedly transporting 87 suspected zama zamas. Its believed that the driver transported the illegal miners who were part of a group involved in a deadly gun battle in Orkney last year. The driver from the North West has now been released on R2,000 bail.
Light snow to make landfall this week
Strong winds and some light snow is predicted to make landfall this week. The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for damaging waves between Plettenberg and Richards Bay. The cooler weather comes following a weekend of cold fronts in the western parts of the country.

Russia continues to forge relations with N Korea
Russia has vowed to expand its comprehensive and constructive bilateral relations with North Korea. That’s the word from Russian President Vladimir Putin who said in a letter sent to his counterpart Kim Jong un on Pyongyang’s liberation day, that the move would be in both countries’ interests.
In turn, Kim said friendship between both nations had been forged in World War II with victory over Japan.

Overdue book returns to library after 75 years
A New Jersey library says a former patron recently returned a book he had checked out 75 years ago. The man said he recently rediscovered the book while reorganizing his family home and wanted to make sure it found its way back to the library. Librarians said the book, titled Hitler from the James J Ferris High School Branch, remains in perfect condition and still has its original reference card.
