A child and youth care centre in Eerste River is undergoing a R104million upgrade to improve its services. The Horizon Child and Youth Care Centre is a level 4 secure care centre which offers various interventions such as:
Substance abuse treatment;
Education and vocational initiatives;
Sports and recreation programmes; and
Therapeutic interventions.
Once completed, the newly refurbished building will have classrooms and arts facilities, with work to be completed by May next year.
Government will allow Russian tycoon Alexey Mordashov’s R9,1billion superyacht to dock at Cape Town’s port. The yacht left Hong Kong last week and is expected to arrive in Cape Town on November 9th. However the Western Cape government along with Mayor Geordin Hill Lewis is against allowing Mordashov to dock in Cape Town, sighting Russia’s invasion in Ukraine as a crime against humanity.
