85k jobs created in the Western Cape in 3rd quarter of 2022
The Western Cape Government says that its pleased to hear the news that 85,000 jobs were created in the province in the 3rd quarter of this year. That’s according to the latest quarterly labour force survey which was released by Stats SA this week. The unemployment rate in the Western Cape has decreased by 1,8 percentage points and by point 8 percentage points year on year.
City in Atlantis today with its indigent benefits relief campaign drive
The City’s indigent benefits and rates relief campaign drive will be in Avondale, Atlantis today. The City encourages residents who may benefit from its indigent assistance to visit and speak to an official about the available assistance. Those who have qualified for indigent benefits in the past must remember that they need to apply yearly for the benefit, except pensioners who may apply to renew their benefit every three years.
Northern Cape to phase in green and renewable energy
Northern Cape Premier Zamani Saul says that his province is trailblazing in phasing in the use of green and renewable energy, saying the province had invested billions into the project.
Earlier this week, the Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Patricia de Lille said that nine green hydrogen projects would be given priority status this week. This means that the projects will be fast-tracked.

Idaho man breaks his 251st world record with a paper jet
An Idaho man with 250 Guinness World Records added another record to his name when he threw a paper jet nearly 15 metres and hit a target. David Rush, who has been breaking Guinness World Records for years to promote STEM education, said it took him several attempts and had multiple close calls before he was finally able to get one of his thrown paper planes to land in a bucket. The feat brought Rush’s total Guinness World Records titles to 251.
