Gov promises to build new police station in Makhaza
The government will start building a new police station in Makhaza in Cape Town next year.
Police Minister, Bheki Cele, made the announcement during the launch of the provincial festive season safety plan.
The residents of Makhaza have been calling for a police station for a long time due to the high rate of violent crime in the area.
City in Salt River today so residents can apply for indigent relief
The City is continuing its indigent benefits and rates relief campaign drive across the metro, with the next stop in Salt River today. The City encourages residents who may benefit from indigent assistance to apply for help and to speak to an official about whether they might qualify. The City’s Customer Relations Department will also be in attendance to provide additional support to residents.
Post Office encourages motorists to renew car licenses at its branches
The South African Post Office has encouraged motorists to renew their annual car licenses at its branches.
Sapo says it saves customers money since they do not charge commissions for the service.
The post office says renewing the car license at its branches would be quick and affordable.

A sneaker care company broke a World Record in London when 325 people cleaned shoes at the same time. The company said the event successfully broke the Guinness World Record for most people cleaning a pair of trainers/sneakers simultaneously.
