Parents to submit their child’s placement apps before deadline on Friday

The Western Cape Department of Education has called on parents to submit their children’s placement applications for 2024 before the deadline.
Online applications for Grade one and eight opened on March 13 and will close on April 14.

SADTU raises concerns around safety at schools 

The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (Sadtu) has raised concerns about safety in schools across the country.
It says violent incidents and robberies have been frequent in schools since the beginning of the 2023 academic year.

Taxi driver arrested for fraudulent drivers license 

A taxi driver with an alleged fraudulent driver’s license has been arrested at a major roadblock at the Mooi River toll plaza in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.
The taxi the man was driving also allegedly had a false license disk.

Hundreds tie the knot in Easter weekend celebration at church in the North West 

The wedding bells were ringing loud and clear in Brits in the North West this weekend.
Over 400 couples tied the knot at the Jerusalem International Pentecost Holiness Church. This is part of the church’s longstanding Easter festivities and tradition.
