Pedestrians urged to be cautious on the roads- MEC Mitchell
The Western Cape MEC for Mobility, Daylin Mitchell, has called on pedestrians to practice caution on the roads.
According to the department, 14 pedestrians were killed on the province’s roads between November 14 and November 20.
A total of 20 people died in several accidents that occurred during this period.
Pedestrians are warned to stay away from highways and busy roads, especially at night.
Traffic calming measures in Fish Hoek planned for next week
The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate will be installing traffic calming measures along roads around Fish Hoek High School from Monday, November 28th through to December 6th.
The work is planned to take place on weekdays, from 08:30 to 16:30. The traffic calming measures will be installed along:
Nelson Road
Orlando Road
and First Crescent
UK backs SA green hydrogen project
The United Kingdom says it will back South Africa’s green hydrogen project.
The UK’s support will come from grant-funded technical assistance.
The UK government says it will also invest a further five-billion American dollars in developing a green ammonia plant in South Africa.
These plans are expected to create thousands of jobs.
And, giant goldfish caught from lake in France
A British angler who cast his line at a carp fishery in France had his photos go viral after he reeled in a monster 30kg goldfish. The fishery said the goldfish was put into the lake 15 years ago to give anglers something interesting to catch, but it wasn’t until last year that the fish was noted to have grown to a size in excess of 30kgs. Bluewater Lakes shared a video of the goldfish being returned to the water after being weighed and photographed.
