R&B singer Miguel and filmmaker Margaret Zhang are expanding their family, with the couple reportedly expecting their second child.
Zhang debuted a visible baby bump while accompanying Miguel at the HollyShorts Film Festival in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 23. The couple attended a special screening of Papá Melissa, a documentary they both executive produced, prompting speculation online that they are preparing to welcome another baby.
Neither Miguel nor Zhang has publicly announced a due date or revealed the sex of the baby.
The pregnancy comes nearly two years after the couple quietly welcomed their first child, a son named Angelito. Miguel and Zhang kept their son’s birth private before introducing him publicly in September 2025, when they celebrated his first birthday.
Miguel shared a video of himself with the child, whose face was kept private, and revealed that he had written a song for his son.
“Our baby turned 1 today,” Miguel wrote at the time, describing himself and Zhang as proud and honoured to be Angelito’s parents.
The singer has previously spoken about how fatherhood changed his outlook and priorities. In discussing becoming a parent, Miguel said that his priorities had changed and that the way he approached his beliefs and actions was now influenced by wanting to build a better future for his son.
Zhang, a Chinese-Australian filmmaker, writer, model and creative director, previously served as editor-in-chief of Vogue China before moving further into filmmaking and creative projects. She and Miguel have largely kept their relationship and family life away from the spotlight.
The couple’s relationship began attracting public attention after Miguel’s separation and subsequent divorce from his longtime partner, Nazanin Mandi. Miguel and Mandi, who had been together for years and married in 2018, divorced in 2022.
Miguel later addressed speculation surrounding the timing of his relationships, while continuing to describe fatherhood and personal growth as important parts of his life.
News of the second pregnancy has since sparked discussion among fans online, with some expressing surprise at the announcement while others pushed back against commentary surrounding Miguel’s previous marriage and his decision to become a father.
For now, Miguel and Zhang appear to be keeping the details of their growing family private. Their appearance together, however, has given fans a glimpse of what appears to be an exciting new chapter for the couple as they prepare to become parents of two.
