South Africa is internationally acclaimed New Zealand soul artist TEEKS‘ biggest market, and the crowd at Park Live proved this as they sang his music word for word.

TEEKS had the perfect backup singers at Park Live, as the crowd sang along, even leaving the artist in awe.  The “First Time” hitmaker is in South Africa on a three-city tour that kicked off in Cape Town, then headed to Durban and ended in Joburg.

TEEKS made sure to give the crowd what they wanted, performing all their favourite songs, “Oil and Water”, “Through It All”, “If Only”, and “Remember Me”.  He also performed new material, “Boy”, before ending the show with the viral hit “First Time”.

Speaking during his performance, TEEKS expressed his appreciation for all the love he has been shown and how he had stuff about South Africa, but coming to the country gave him a different perspective and would be returning to the country.

“It’s a pleasure to be here with you tonight. It’s my first time in South Africa. It’s my first time performing in Johannesburg. I want to tell you, man, since the moment we landed in South Africa, the people here have been so beautiful, so warm, so kind, so generous. I feel at home,” said the musician.

TEEKS wasn’t the only artist who performed at Park Live that had the crowd captivated. Award-winning songstress Elaine performed before TEEKS and came prepared to give the crowd a memorable performance.

Elaine looked incredible in a blue sparkly outfit with blonde curly hair that was styled perfectly for her look. The songstress made sure that her performance included the hits her fans love, “Shining Star”, “Risky” and her new song “One More Time”, before ending her set with “You’re The One”.

Park Live Jozi’s lineup also included artists Rowlene, Nasty C, Will Linley, Matthew Mole and Giod Neighbours.
