The Western Cape Health Department has celebrated a fourth consecutive year for its clean audit outcome. It is the only provincial health department in the country to do so. The Department says its making good progress to improve infrastructure, embarking on 9 infrastructure projects which achieved Practical Completion during this financial year. One of the most important projects is the Wall of Remembrance, honouring those who lost their lives during the pandemic.
The City says that the Greenville housing project in Fisantekraal near Durbanville has created opportunities for unemployed residents. Recruits perform a variety of duties such as basic bricklaying, plastering, plumbing, carpentry and general labour. This forms part of the Expanded Public Works Programme, which the City says up skills those who are unemployed to gain the experience in various trades.
