City prepares for busy summer season with deployment of lifeguards

Part of the duties of lifeguards is to conduct observations and spot potential hazards before they become life threatening. That’s the word of Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill Lewis who said that the City’s Recreation and Parks Department had begun the deployment of 600 lifeguards to swimming pools and beaches across the metro. Hill Lewis is further calling on residents to work together with lifeguards to ensure that everyone is safe this festive season.
