Content creator Lisa Madibe is marking one year since stepping into entrepreneurship. Her hair brand, Hairlo Beauty, has become a key part of her evolution in the digital and beauty space.

For Madibe, one of the highlights of the past year has been seeing Hairlo Beauty flourish and receiving unwavering support from her community.

2025 hasn’t been easy, but Madibe has been counting her blessings and it’s ending on a high note for the digital creator. “I’m just so grateful for the year.”

Madibe has been intentional about showing up for herself, and this has naturally shown in her work. “I truly enjoyed growing in this industry and I just love how people are embracing me, brands are seeing me and I’m very grateful for that journey.”

During the Absa Champagne In Africa Festival 2025, Madibe attended a Champagne Masterclass and dinner with the acclaimed Chef Wandile at his establishment, Les Créatifs restaurant.

Speaking with IOL, Madibe disclosed that prayer is her anchor, describing it as the sole practice that maintains her mental clarity and groundedness.

“I always think about where I come from and I always ask myself, ‘Five years ago, were you here? No.’ So, I’m here right now, and that’s what keeps me going, looking back to where I come from.

As the year winds down, the Joburg native is preparing to spend the festive season with her family and resting, followed by a trip to Dubai to visit her brother.

Here are Madibe’s three tips for a wholesome Christmas:

Have a good theme: She suggests putting a “spinner in the works” and throwing in a theme to see how family members show up.

Have a good playlist: This is a time for dancing and celebrating the year.

Contribute to the meal: She encourages everyone to contribute to the meal to experience different tastes and flavours, emphasizing “no lazy people.”
