8 year old reunited with her family after being abducted more than a week ago 

Western Cape MEC for Police Oversight and Community Safety Reagen Allen has welcomed the news that an 8 year old who was abducted on her way to school in Gatesville had been found.

Police say they used state of the art technology to locate Abirah Dekhta, and that several suspects are being questioned. She has since been reunited with her family.

 

Residents encouraged to comment on draft development framework for Strandfontein coastal node

There are major plans in the pipeline for the Strandfontein coastline, with the City proposing the development of residential and rental opportunities as well as recreational facilities inclusive of a picnic area and walkways. The City says the public have till the 14th of December to comment on the proposal for the development along the False Bay coast, with the proposed possible demolition of the western part of the Strandfontein pavilion and upgrade for the pool and terrace area.

 

 

G20 Leaders’ Summit kicks off in Bali, President Ramaphosa in attendance 

The G20 Leaders’ Summit has kicked off in Bali, with President Cyril Ramaphosa expected to participate in deliberations among world leaders whose economies account for 85% of the global GDP, 80% of world trade and two thirds of the worlds populations. The G20 was formed in 1999 as a result of the Asian financial crises of the late 1990s, initially as a gathering of finance ministers and subsequently as a platform for Heads of State and Government in the aftermath of the global financial crisis. The group consists of leading developed and developing economies aiming at a collective response to global economic and financial challenges rooted in the interconnected economic and financial architecture.

Fully intact alligator found inside python 

Scientists in Florida cut open a Burmese python and found a 1,5metre fully intact alligator inside. The python is said to have measured at more than 5 metres in length. Pythons typically swallow their food whole, with their unique anatomy allowing their jaws to expand wide enough to encapsulate objects much larger than the circumference of their own bodies.
