There may be some good news on the cards again as the fuel prices are predicted to drop next month. According to economists the rand has been performing well against international currencies which could mean good news for motorists as oil prices will be cheaper.
City’s Law Enforcement agencies make nearly 230 arrests over the past week
The City says enforcement agencies made nearly 230 arrests and issued more than 56,800 fines for various transgressions over the past week. The City also said that nearly 2,000 incidents were recorded by the Public Emergency Communication Centre over the past weekend.
President Ramaphosa must prove how serious he is about fighting crime by devolving policing powers- CT Mayor
Mayor Geordin Hill Lewis says that if President Cyril Ramaphosa is serious about fighting crime then he must devolve policing powers to competent local governments. In his January 8th statement, the President committed to taking urgent steps to enhance crime fighting capacity of law enforcement agencies by increasing the number of police personnel to match the country’s population increase, with the Mayor adding that 71 percent of police stations in the Western Cape have seen a decline in police personnel over the past five financial years.
Pair of Indian men visit all seven continents, breaking a world record
A pair of men from India broke a world record when they visited all seven continents in just three days, one hour, five minutes and six seconds. The pair say that they do not expect their title to last and have admitted that others may break the record and clinch the title, but for now they are enjoying their victory.
