225 people lost their lives during the Easter Long weekend. This was revealed by Transport Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga who briefed media earlier. The minister revealed that 44 percent of fatalities were pedestrians, with the number ticking up from last year’s 161 fatalities.

The Western Cape Department of Education has pleaded with parents to apply on time for the 2024 school year.
The provincial online application process for places in schools closes at midnight tonight. Education MEC, David Maynier, says it is important for parents to make sure that their children have places in school for next year.

Eswatini to expect protests in the coming week 

The government of the Kingdom of Eswatini is expecting protests in the country next week.
Eswatini will be celebrating the birthday of King Mswati III next week.
The kingdom has experienced protests by people who are demanding democracy over the past few years.
The government has cracked down on the protesters and has been accused of violence.
