Stage 4 loadshedding till 4pm today as 4.600MW of generating capacity out of service
Eskom has again ramped up its loadshedding stages as stage four is set to be in place until 4pm this afternoon. The power utility says that a generating unit each at Arnot returned to service, but a generating unit each at Duvha, Medupi, Tutuka and Hendrina power stations had been delayed. 4,600MW of generating capacity is out of service for planned maintenance.
Investigations underway into the death of a cyclist at the CT Cycle Tour
Details are currently being investigated after a cyclist died while participating in the Cape Town Cycle Tour at the weekend. The tour organisers have since expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the rider. 220 cyclist are said to have been seen by doctors, nurses and medical personnel along the route. 19 people were referred to hospital for follow-up treatment.
Deaths linked to Nehawu strike likely to rise- Health Minister
Health Minister Joe Phaahla is hitting back at the Nehawu for accusing him of pushing a political agenda. This after Phaahla released a report, linking the deaths of four patients to the ongoing protests. The Minister says children are among those believed to have died and that the number is rising.
7 year old earns world record for being world’s youngest yoga instructor
A 7 year old girl has earned a world record for being the world’s youngest certified yoga instructor. Praanvi Gupta is said to have started practicing yoga with her mother when she was 3 ½ years old. She has since completed a 200 hour training course.
