Nigeria has announced the release of four-thousand-and-68 prisoners to ease overcrowding in prisons.
The announcement follows President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s pre-election promise to reduce overcrowding in the country’s prisons.
The government says only inmates who were held because they could not pay fines will be released.
