American pop star Sabrina Carpenter has recently revealed that she is now fearful for her safety and is seeking a restraining order against a man who forcefully tried to enter her Los Angeles home twice.
A man, identified as 31-year-old William Applegate, was seen near Carpenter’s home for nearly a month before he allegedly tried to trespass on the Grammy Award-winning singer’s home.
On May 23, Applegate was caught by Carpenter’s security and police after he made his way onto a neighbor’s property to breach the pop singer’s security fencing.
“It is clear to me that his approach was deliberate, calculated and aggressive, which is deeply alarming.
“He then forced his way closer to my residence and advanced directly to my front door. Once there, Applegate physically grabbed the lever of my front door and forcefully pushed down, actively trying to force his way inside my home without any invitation, permission or consent whatsoever,” Carpenter wrote in a statement submitted on May 29.
During the incident, which was captured on Ring camera footage, Applegate allegedly claimed to know Carpenter and refused her security guards’ demands to leave the property until the police arrived.

Applegate was then arrested, and in less than 24 hours, he showed up to Carpenter’s home and came back again the following day, at one point watching the property from his car for at least two hours.
The singer clarified that the reason why she didn’t consider getting help at first was that he kept his distance.
“Initially, he maintained a greater distance, which is why direct contact was not made at the time.
“However, Applegate’s conduct has followed a clear and deeply troubling escalation pattern, as he has progressively moved closer and closer to my home, ultimately culminating in the violent and aggressive trespass of May 23, 2026,” the singer added.
The “Please, Please, Please” singer further stated that the whole incident has caused her emotional distress and left her fearful.
“His delusional insistence that he knows me and was expected by me is indicative of a dangerous, delusional and irrational fixation on me.
“His pattern of stalking, trespassing and surveillance has caused me severe and ongoing emotional distress, and I am in fear of what he may do if he is not restrained by this court,” she wrote.
Applegate was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.
