Taking Parliament To The People will be taking place in KZN from next Tuesday through to Friday. It’s a flagship programme of the National Council of Provinces taking place in the Ugu District Municipality where delegates consisting of members of Parliament, KZN Provincial Legislature, and local Municipalities will visit various sites and conduct public meetings, where members of the public are given the opportunity to draw the executive’s attention to challenges they experience with regards to service delivery. Ministers, MECs and MMCs are also given an opportunity to respond to issues raised by the public.
Employers should ensure that their workers are contributing toward UIF each month as required by law. That’s the call from the UIF as it announced that claims such as Unemployment and Maternity get delayed due to a lack of up to date declarations and contributions by employers. The monthly UIF contribution is made up of 1% deducted from the salary of the worker and 1% by the employer.
