Everyone is talking about North West this week.
Rather than her musical projects, the focus has shifted to the 13-year-old frequently being spotted in adult spaces like runway shows and late-night concerts.
The discussion continued online due to her latest appearance at Paris Fashion Week where she attended the Vetements Menswear SS27 show.
As per usual, she wasn’t with either of her parents, reality star Kim Kardashian or rapper Kanye “Ye” West.
North’s latest public appearance quickly went viral for all the wrong reasons.
Videos circulating online showed the minor swarmed by grown men trying to take pictures with her, sparking immediate backlash.
The footage caught the attention of British rapper Skepta, who took to X to call out the behaviour.
Sharing a clip where a man awkwardly forces a hug on North after she extends her hand for a handshake, the rapper openly criticised the boundary-crossing interaction.
Skepta shared that even a blind man can see that North certainly wanted a handshake instead of a hug.
He followed up with another post saying: “My fans know I try to stay out of people’s business but damn the way grown men, complete strangers, try to use North makes me sick.”
When one social media user asked if hugging a social offense, Skepta responded by pointing out that North actually wanted a handshake.
“What are you talking about?! She is 13 years old and she put her hand out for a handshake, you don’t ignore that. I can’t believe some of these replies to my tweet,” he wrote.
The rapper mentioned that schools should focus more on teaching body language instead of subjects like French or German.
The conversation regarding North attending grown-up events especially without her parents in most cases has been a topic for a while now.
People have been saying she is just a kid who should be doing normal stuff like hanging with friends, catching movies and just having fun instead of being at these events.
It’s not just the adult environments causing a stir, North’s style and multiple piercings have also become a massive talking point online, with critics arguing she’s way too young.
Her mom has previously shut down the judgment, explaining that she lets North fully explore her creative side. Since it brings her daughter so much joy, she noted she “would never take that creativity away from her.”
However, when it comes to the latest controversy surrounding North at adult events, her mother has remained completely silent.
